Chalk this up to lessons learned the hard way – two government employees have been fired by Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing after he caught them playing DoTA 2 on the job.
In a Facebook post on his personal account, the mayor identifies the two men as city hall employees inside the city’s planning office.
“This is a picture of City Hall employees inside the Planning Office and why they just lost their jobs,” he said simply on his Facebook post.
The firings are timely since the city experienced heavy flooding and gridlock in the past few days due to heavy rains.
There’s nothing more infuriating than seeing government employees deliberately waste time and not do actual work, since we’re all indirectly paying them the salary that they enjoy. Hopefully this serves as an example to other governent employees to stop wasting our time and actually do something productive.
