Facebook’s Internet.org arrives in SEA through Smart

Facebook’s Internet.org initiative, which aims to connect everyone to the net (especially people who are less privileged than us) has officially launched in the Philippines through Smart, via their value brand Talk ‘N Text.

This partnership allows Smart, Talk ‘N Text and Sun subscribers to connect to a variety of websites for free (yes, free!) without any data charges. Here’s the list of sites that they can visit:

  • Ask.com
  • Bing
  • Dictionary.com
  • wikiHow
  • Wikipedia
  • Inquirer
  • PhilStar
  • Interaksyon
  • Rappler
  • ESPN
  • SPIN.PH
  • Accuweather
  • RainCheckPH
  • Wattpad
  • TESDA.gov.ph
  • Jobstreet
  • OLX.PH
  • PesosandSense
  • YourMoney.com
  • BabyCenter & MAMA
  • Girl Effect
  • Facts for Life

Aside from the free web access to the sites, people will be able to connect to the basic services of Facebook and Facebook Messenger.

Users can download the free Internet.org app on the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can simply text INTERNET 9999 using any Sun, Smart or Talk ‘N Text SIM card.
