If you’re a PLDT customer in the Quezon and Timog Avenue area and are currently experiencing no data and voice services at all, we now know the reason why. PLDT, in an official advisory, blames a Globe contractor for the fiber cut that have disrupted services in the area. Here’s the official verbiage:
We wish to inform our home and enterprise customers within the vicinity of Quezon Avenue and Timog Avenue in Quezon City that PLDT voice and data services in the area are currently unavailable after our fiber optic cables servicing their areas were hit by ongoing underground digging of a contractor of Globe Telecom.
PLDT has been hard at work trying to fix the issue but unfortunately heavy rains are complicating matters, but the company pledges to fix the problem in 24 hours.
As for the Globe Contractors, we’re sure that this was just an honest accident – it doesn’t really make sense to antagonize your competition by sabotaging their infrastructure. We just hope they be careful next time so it doesn’t happen again.
