Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Samsung Galaxy Note

Finally.

Samsung Galaxy Note finally gets Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

After months of waiting after the initial announcement of Android 4.0, the Samsung Galaxy Note here in the Philippines finally received the highly anticipated update a few days ago. Unfortunately though I heard that the units that only got the update were the ones that aren’t locked with either Smart or Globe. The unit that I have is an unlocked model which I bought from Digital Walker (with official Samsung Warranty).

We’ve had the update for around two days now and here are our initial observations:

  • The Galaxy Note is more responsive. Lesser lag when switching applications. Smoother animations. Two thumbs up for hits!
  • The S Note gets an update! Watch the video below to see the new features.
  • Battery life gets a boost! Based on my personal use it’s around 20%-30% better after the update. Not bad!
  • Android 4.0 Multi-tasking is the best. The old multi-tasking interface was so dull and boring.
  • Better typography and font. Very noticeable.

Looking forward to the next update! Hopefully it won’t take 2 years before we get it, lol.
