No PC? No problem

Today smartphones have plenty of untapped processing power, and truth be told they’re as powerful as desktops 4 or even 3 years ago. The guys behind Andromium have managed to tap into the power of the mobile processor and put it to work as a desktop.

The way they accomplished this was through a small, unobtrusive dock that interfaces to your keyboard, mouse and display. The team behind the new accessory also developed the Andromium OS spearheaded by Gordon Zheng, a former Google employee. The Andromium OS allows you to use your phone as a typical desktop, though it’s still able to receive calls and messages as well as push notifications to the fore when you need it.

Unfortunately, Andromium only supports Samsung’s series of Galaxy devices, sarting with the S3 all the wall up to the S4 and the Note 2 up to Note 4. The Andromium team is working to deliver a different dock for other devices, namely the HTC One M7 and M8, as well as the LG Nexus 4 and 5, Motorola Nexus 6 and other large screen tablets.

Right now the project is up in Kickstarter. $29 (Php 1297) gets you one in the mail, though you will have to foot an extra $10 to get one out shipped to you in the PH.

You can check it out in action in their Kickstarter page right here.
