Quick review of the Apple Smart Cover for the iPad

Looking for a simple, slim, and straightforward case for your new iPad? If you are then you might want to check out the Apple Smart Case. This is different from the original Smart Cover because this one is a full case. The back and the sides of the iPad get full protection unlike the Smart Cover. It’s actually like the kid of the Smart Cover and the first generation iPad case (the black one) since it borrows best features from both of them.

It’s made from the same material of the Apple Smart Cover (not the leather one, the PU type)

There’s some sort of felt coating inside both on the inner flaps of the front and back covers.

There are cut-outs for all the ports and buttons. At the back you’ll find a white Apple logo. Kinda makes it look weird IMHO.

Just like the Smart Cover you can fold the front flap so that you can use your iPad in landscape or typing mode. It also has the same magnets so it can sleep/wake your iPad when you close/open it.

The Apple Smart Case retails for Php2,790. We got ours from Digital Hub in Theater Mall, Greenhills.

Verdict

The Smart Case is nice but at this price point there are a lot of other really good cases to consider. If you add a little more you can already get a leather case or folio from other brands. If you’re in the market for cases the Smart Case is worthy enough to be considered but make sure you check out your other options as well.
