Arc Mobile Nitro 450D: Quad-core, Android 4.2.1, 4.5-inch qHD Display for Php6,200

Arc Mobile is a new player in the local smartphone industry. They’ll be competing against the more established brands like Starmobile, Cherry Mobile, and MyPhone. A few weeks ago Arc Mobile launched several new products ranging from smartphones to tablets. For smartphones they had two lines — the NITRO series which are all running Android Jelly Bean and the Prime series which are more affordable and entry-level. All of the devices were actually priced very competitively but the one that stood out the most was the Arc Mobile Nitro 450D, their quad-core smartphone offering for just Php6,200.

The only downer really here is that it just runs 512MB RAM. We’d definitely love to get our hands on a unit so we can put it through the paces. That’s really the only way to determine if the device offers good value for money or not. Anyway, it’s still quite a head-turner and an attention grabber. You rarely see “Quad-core CPU”, “Android 4.2”, and “Php6,200” all in one sentence, hehe.

The Arc Mobile Prime 350 is the most affordable among bunch with only P2,600 SRP. It has analog TV, 3.5 inch HVGA screen, a single core 1Ghz processor and a small 256MB RAM.

Arc Mobile’s tablet offering, the Tab 700M has a 7-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz single core processor, dual camera and dual sim capacity. Specs are a little low for a tablet but its is justifiable with its P3,990 pricetag.
