Archos jumps into the smartphone business
Over the last few years Archos has established themselves as a brand for affordable Android tablets. They’re now using that as a springboard to launch themselves into the smartphone business with their newest offerings — the Archos 53 Platinum phablet and the Archos 50 Platinum smartphone. The phablet looks sezzy on the photo above but we’ll have to get our hands on an actual unit to see with our own eyes if it really does look good. What’s surprising though is the price. It will retail for Php11,995 which is kinda pricey given the quad-core alternatives we have from local brands.
Anyway, here’s a partial rundown of the specs:
Archos 53 Platinum Partial Spec Sheet
- Quad-core Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 5.3-inch IPS qHD Display (220ppi)
- 8.0-megapixels rear-facing camera
- Dual-SIM, Dual Standby
- 3G, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, GPS with AGPS, Bluetooth
- Android Jelly Bean
Here’s the e-poster on the Archos 50 Platinum:
Definitely need more info on both devices. Their marketing peeps should highlight all the specs otherwise bitin, hehe.
