ASUS Also Has Their Own Purpose-built Mining Cards

Hopefully this will help with the shortage

And just like that, ASUS has joined the fray in offering mining-specific GPUs, after another hardware manufacturer, Sapphire, announced their specialty cards. Predictably ASUS’ offering is an NVIDIA-based 1060 card, and just like Sapphire’s offering their Mining P106-6G GPU has no video output, probably to prevent miners from flipping the card to the used market after the mining craze is over.

ASUS is advertising the Mining P106 as having a better hash-rate than a regular GTX 1060, as well as better reliability for 24H operation.

ASUS will also be offering a Radeon-based graphics card as well for mining, dubbed the Mining RX 470. No pricing for these cards are available as of yet. Hopefully with more mining-specific cards being announced by vendors the shortage and price increase on regular GPUs used by gamers will disappear and pricing will return to normal.
