Lollipop on the previous generation Zenfones

While we’re all basking in Lollipop on the glorious Zenfone 2, let’s not forget that ASUS has a whole lineup of phones that’s still stuck on KitKat in the form of the Zenfone 4, 5 and 6. Thankfully, ASUS has officially started the rollout of the Lollipop update for all three phones today in the form of OTAs and direct downloads from ASUS’ forums.

The Zenfone 5 A500KL was the first previous generation Zenfone 5 to receive Lollipop, and today its other brothers, the A500CG and the A501 CG are also receiving updates via OTA and direct downloads that we’ve linked below. The Zenfone 4 AC400CG also gets Lollipop, again through OTA and direct downloads.

For the Zenfone 6, only direct downloads are available to update the A600CG and A601CG, which again are linked below.

With the latest update of Lollipop, ASUS has officially managed to move their previous Zenfone series of devices to three different Android OS versions – 4.3 Jellybean, 4.4 KitKat and now Android 5.0 Lollipop. We’re hoping that other manufacturers show this amount of support as far as updates go in their devices.
