Did ASUS just take a page out of Huawei’s playbook?
The Consumer Electronics Show is right around the corner, and companies are now starting to tease their next products that they will unveil of the next year. ASUS has released a short teaser video for their next Zenfone, and apparently the next iteration of the highly successful smartphone will feature a dual-camera system that’s not unlike what Huawei used for the Honor 6 Plus.
While it’s not clear if the company is using a second camera to capture images like the Honor 6 Plus or just for depth information like the HTC One M8, there are merits to using two cameras at the same time. Since ASUS’ Pixelmaster camera technology’s main selling points is low-light performance, going with two camera sensors allows the device to capture more light compared to single lens cameras.
CES will begin January 6 of next year, so it won’t be long until we find out how it works.
