Yet another downgraded flagship?

The march of the mini and lite branded phones trudges on. This time, it’s Asus and their PadFone Infinity Lite, launched yesterday in their home turf of Taiwan. Asus thankfully didn’t go crazy with the downgrade of the PadFone Infinity 2 before being slapped with the Lite branding – as far as we know they only swapped out the 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor for a slightly gentler 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor.

PadFone Infinity Lite specs

  • 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 5-inch full HD IPS display, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 441 pixels per inch
  • 32GB of storage, expandable via microSD
  • 13-megapixel camera with f/2.o lens, BSI
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • 2,400mAh battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

PadFone Infinity Lite Dock specs

  • 10.1-inch full HD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 224 pixels per inch
  • 5,000mAh battery

The PadFone Infinity Lite still has the 10.1-inch screen/dock, and the 13-megapixel camera of its namesake. The phone component has a 2,400mAh battery, while the tablet dock has a 5,000mAh battery. The original post suggests that the Infinity Lite will ship with Android 4.1 which is a slight bummer, however we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes with Android 4.3 out of the gate.

The PadFone Infinity Lite goes for TWD 13,990, or around Php 20658 without taxes or duties when it starts shipping in March. The dock is priced at TWD 7,000, or around Php 10,335 without taxes or duties.
