Looks like an updated Zenfone 4

ASUS has announced their Zenfone 2 during CES a few weeks ago, but we’ve yet to see any movement in their affordable smartphone lineup that’s currently occupied by the Zenfone 4. That ends today, as the company officially announced the Zenfone C (ZC451CG) in Malaysia, which, for all intents and purposes is being marketed as the replacement for the current Zenfone 4 model.

ASUS Zenfone C specs

  • 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4.5-inch TFT LED display, 480 x 854 resolution
  • 8GB of storage expandable via microSD
  • 5-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, AF and flash
  • VGA front camera
  • 3G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS
  • 2100mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

The Zenfone C sports a 4.5-inch TFT LED display with a resolution of 480 x 854, which is an improvement over the smaller 4-inch display of the Zenfone 4. The Zenfone C also sports a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It also sports a higher 2100mAh battery which is an improvement over the old 1600mAh capacity in the previous model. There’s also a flash embedded on the back to help the 5-megapixel rear camera (with f/2.0 aperture) take photos of subjects in low light. ASUS has priced the Zenfone C (in Malaysia at least).
