Big-Battery Smartphone Face-Off: Infinix Note 4 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X

Big batteries is life

Have you been frustrated of running out of juice from your smartphone in the middle of the day, and you (unfortunately) forgot your trusty power bank? Maybe you should get yourself a phone with a big battery AND a large screen. While the ZenFone 4 Max may be the champ in this category, there are other big-batteried phones that sell for a hair under Php 9k–cheaper than the ZenFone 4 Max, in fact.

Yes, we are referring to the Infinix Note 4 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x: Aside from sporting full HD displays, they also sport big batteries for the power-hungry smartphone user out there. Between the two, which offers the better bang for the buck? Let’s take a quick look at their specs:

Internals: Snapdragon is a definite plus

While both phones have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the Redmi Note 4X wins here for sporting a mid-range Snapdragon 625 processor, which is superior over the MT6753 in terms of processor speed (the 625 is rated at 2.0 GHZ, while the 6753 is rated at 1.3 GHZ).

Display: Bigger is better

Both may sport Full HD displays, but some would prefer the Note 4’s bigger 5.7-inch display over the Redmi Note 4X’s 5.5-inch panel. Though if you are a pixel peeper, the Redmi Note 4X’s smaller display has a higher Pixels Per Inch (PPI) compared to the Note 4’s display

Cameras: Note 4 by a hair

It’s an even match between the Note 4 and Redmi Note 4X with their 13-megapixel rear cameras. However, the Note 4 comes with an 8-megapixel front camera–a superior snapper over the Redmi Note 4X’s 5-megapixel front camera.

Battery: It’s a close match

While the Note 4’s 4300mAh battery is 200mAh bigger than the one found in the Redmi Note 4x, the difference is small. The Note 4 would be needing a bigger battery because it has a bigger display. Also worth noting is that the Snapdragon 625 is more battery-efficient compared to the MT6753, so it’s a draw for both the Note 4 and Redmi Note 4X in this department.

Verdict: The Note 4 is a good choice too

The Redmi fans may be outraged with the verdict, but with all honesty, the Infinix Note 4 is a noteworthy challenger against the Redmi Note 4X. It may be a tad more expensive, but you get a bigger display and bigger battery in return.
