Sorry folks, no cheap, game-changing product for you

Remember that teaser ad for Google Glass that CD-R King came out with a few days ago? Seems that the promise of a cheap, Google Glass-esque future isn’t going to happen after all. The purveyor of all things affordable has pulled the ad and apologized for the confusion, saying that the article was “erroneously” posted in their Facebook page. Here’s the entire message:

Notice: An article relating to Google Glass was erroneously posted in CDR-King’s Facebook page. The public is notified that Google is not in any way associated with CD-R King. CD-R King is not licensed or authorized to represent Google, to use any of its marks, or to sell any of its products, including Google Glass. CD-R King regrets any inconvenience or misinformation that may have been caused. 

From the verbiage that the company used in its announcement, it may be possible that they were asked by Google to clarify that they are not affiliated in any way with the local company. Right now the only way you can buy Google Glass is if you order it through Google, as it’s in limited deployment with devs and other early adopters to test the concept.
