Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2X or Starmobile Muse?

Right now there are two local major flagships battling it out with their Full HD displays. On one corner we have the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2x and in the other corner we have the Starmobile Muse. Both devices offer a lot of unique features and capabilities that completely differentiates them from one another. There is no one total winner but you can decide which one is for you based on the pros and cons of each device. And that’s what we’ll do today!

Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2X

Pros

  • Currently the smoothest Full HD phablet we’ve tried (but there are still isolated instances of lags)
  • Nice big 5.7-inch display, very vibrant and warm colors, great for media consumption

Cons

  • Camera is just average despite BSI claim and high megapixel count
  • Back plate gets smudges and fingerprints easily
  • Not a fan of the material used with the back plate

Starmobile Muse Review

Pros

  • Superb optics in the camera. Takes excellent photos
  • Front flash — didn’t use it too often but at least it’s there when you need it for dark selfies lol
  • Not really a phablet at 5.0-inches, easier to handle with just one hand
  • Solid build, nice hardware design

Cons

  • Lag is evident especially with graphics intensive games and sometimes even with basic functions
  • Non-expandable 16GB internal storage (fortunately it has USB OTG)

Summary

If you want a Full HD phablet which you will use mostly as a media player, the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2X is probably your best bet. If you want a phone that takes really good photos and is more usable with one hand, the Starmobile Muse might be a better choice. Both aren’t really ideal for hardcore gaming. You’re better off with phones running qHD with 1.3GHz quad-core processors so you get maximum FPS.

Or you can just wait it out for a few weeks and wait for the octa-core versions of both devices hit the market so that the pesky Full HD lag issue finally gets resolved for good, hehe.

Anyway hope you found this helpful! Happy New Year again everyone!
