Octa-core for only Php 4,999? Yes!
We’ve been seeing more and more affordable octa-core devices being sold by local brands today, with prices steadily dropping down to sub 6K levels. Today, one local brand has managed to drop the price of octa-core smartphones to sub 5K levels, and no, it’s not Cherry Mobile.

Surprisingly enough, the local brand with the lowest priced octa-cor smartphone in the land is currently Cloudfone, with their Excite 501o. The company didn’t send out a press release (like they normally do) when they announce a new product, so we’re guessing they still want the news to be on the down-low. Anyways, the price for their new octa-core smartphone? Php 4,999, beating out SKK’s Phoenix X1 by a couple hundred pesos with the added benefit of you being able to actually buy the Excite 501o in stores unlike SKK’s offering which seems to exist only in legend.
Anyway, for the price your paying for the specs are halfway decent, and though the qHD display bums us out a bit, the upside is that there’s more processing power available for games and apps. You can buy the 501o right now, though we don’t know exactly where it’s available as of writing.
