Facebook VP of VR Hugo Barra gives us a preview on the anticipated smartphone

 

For sure most of us are simply drooling over the design of Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2, especially with how it pushes the bezel-less trend to a whole new level. With Hugo Barra, Facebook’s VP of VR, getting his hands on a unit, we got a peek at the packaging for the Mi MIX 2, along with the phone itself.

Inside that sleek, minimalist black box, you have the Mi MIX 2, the USB-C cable, your fast charger, a SIM ejector pin, a case for the Mi MIX 2, and a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter, similar to the one found in the iPhone 7.

The phone’s rear, which is made of ceramic, has a glossy-like finish.

Upon closer look at the rear, you get to see the camera rim, which is made from 18K gold. That’s one posh phone we have there (remember Vertu? lol)

The phone’s front is simply a beaut. It is smaller and narrower than the original Mi MIX, making it easier to hold and use.

For a comparison, here’s the Mi MIX 2 alongside Samsung’s Galaxy S8 between the S8’s AMOLED screen and the Mi MIX 2’s IPS display, one can notice that the AMOLED panel displays brighter colors compared to the IPS panel.

The Mi MIX 2 has less curved edges compared to the S8, making the Mi MIX 2 more similar to the Galaxy Note 8:
