Holiday Gift Guide: 10 Things You Can Buy for Your Dad

Holiday Gift Guide: 10 Things You Can Buy for Your Dad

For this year we’re going to be releasing our holiday gift guides early. There are a lot of sales happening this October so it would be great to take advantage of that for early Christmas shopping.

To kick things off, we’d like to share with you guys a short list of potential gifts for your Dad. We were going around SM Megamall the other day and we found a lot of pretty good stuff. Check them out below. 🙂

I. A Hip and Modern Clutch Bag: Knomad

knomad-lifestyle_1

First up we have the Knomad Portable Organizer. This is a fresh, modern, and stylish take on the clutch bag. This is a really great gift if your Dad is a bit of a techie. It has multiple compartments and slots for smartphones, powerbanks, and tablets. It also comes in various sizes and colors.

You can get one from Power Mac Center (usually at the SM Cyberzone area). Prices range from Php5,000-Php8,000 depending on the size and the material of the exterior.

II. If Your Dad is a Star Wars Fan: Sphero BB-8 Droid

The Star Wars Sphero BB-8 Droid is probably the dream toy of a lot of Star Wars fans new and old alike. Perhaps the only issue with this is the price as it sells for Php12,500 in Toy Kingdom.

III. Sleek and Professional: ASUS ZenPower Black Edition

If you’re Dad is lugging around a giant and ugly looking power bank, it’s time for an upgrade. An affordable and very useful gift you can give him is the limited edition black ASUS ZenPower. Not only does it get the job done of recharging gadgets, it’s also very affordable (Php895) and it looks awesome.

IV. Retro Made Cool: Marshall Headphones and Speakers

Marshall Major 2 c

Chances are your Dad is familiar (if not a big fan of) the audio brand Marshall. They’re an iconic company that has a solid reputation for making good speakers used by rock bands and musicians. A great gift this Christmas would be any of the consumer audio products of Marshall. They have a lot that you can pick from — speakers, earphones, and headphones. They come in different prices as well so just find the one that fits your budget.

V. Cool Throwback Stuff Part II — Satchmi Turntable

Speaking of “retro” gear, another fantastic gift idea is the Satchmi Turntable. It’s a fresh take on the classic turntable and it also won’t leave a gaping hole in your wallet. We bought one a few years ago (Motorino) and it set us back around Php5,000. You can get this from the Satchmi store in SM Megamall.

VI. Classic and Timeless: Orient Sun Moon Automatic Watch

Arguably one of the best dress watches you can get for under Php10,000. The Orient Sun-Moon rocks a beautiful in-house self-winding automatic watch, a sun-moon complication dial (or rather a day-night indicator; very important when changing dates using the crown), topped with a scratch-proof sapphire crystal glass all housed in a delicate polished stainless steel case.

It’s not a techie gift but it’s definitely something that any grown man would appreciate and love.

VII. Upgrade Your Dad’s Laptop Bag: dbramante1928

If your Dad is still using a generic black laptop bag or sleeve, it’s a great time to give him a nice handmade leather bag for everyday use at work. The problem is that most leather products are ridiculously overpriced. The good news is that you can get high quality leather goods from dbramante1928. The prices of their cases and bags vary so just get the one that you can afford for your father.

VIII. Fitness and Health Accessory: Sony SmartBand 2

Sony-Smartband-a

The Sony SmartBand 2 was just released last month and it’s one of the nicer looking fitness bands that you can get your hands on. It’s on the pricey side (around Php7,000) but it’s packed with a lot of pretty cool features. You can read more about it here. If you want to see it “in the flesh”, just take a quick trip to the Sony flagship store in SM Megamall.

If you’re Dad is a bit of a gamer, you might also want to check out the Razer Nabu X which is usually being sold in Data Blitz stores. It’s much more affordable but has less features than the SmartBand 2.

XI. Classic Daddy Gift: Perfume/Cologne/Fragrances

Sauvage-Main4

If you don’t want to give your Dad a gadget gift, you can explore giving him fragrances. However be a little more daring and skip the usual Polo Sport, Davidoff Cool Water, or Acqua Di Gio. We recommend that you guys check out Dior Sauvage (newly released), Mont Blanc Individuel, Bleu De Chanel, or Terre D’Hermes.

X. Smartphone? ASUS Zenfone 2

ASUS-Zenfone-2

If you can’t afford to give your Dad the Php30k+ flagships of Samsung, Sony, or Apple, you can go with the smartphone that is arguably the best bang-for-your-buck offering right now: the ASUS Zenfone 2. It comes in different variants, sizes, and prices. Just pick the one the fits your Dad’s lifestyle and your budget. The ASUS Zenfone is available in almost all gadget shops in SM Cyberzone.

And that’s a wrap! If you guys have any suggestions of great Christmas gifts for the Dads of our readers, please do let us know in the comments section below.

Advanced Merry Christmas everyone!
