HTC’s newest smartphone is destined for the mid-range market
Looks like the HTC Desire 8 leak was spot on except for the name. HTC’s newest mid-range device is officially called the Desire 816. The HTC promises that the Desire 816 will be competitively priced, although HTC has not revealed any kind of pricing until it’s China launch on March 18. Aside from it’s potentially competitive price point in the mid-range market, the HTC Desire 816 is also equipped with an LTE modem.

The Desire 816 utilizes a 13-megapixel shooter with a f/2.2 main camera, along with a 5-megapixel f/2.8 front camera. The device is pretty thin, only 7.99mm thick, and is HTC’s first ever smartphone to take a nano-SIM. Unfortunately, we’re not sure exactly what Android OS it’ll come packing when it’s released, but we’re sure it’s going to come with HTC’s UI overlay. We’ll just have to check out all the details when it launches in China on March 18.
