Huawei’s latest tab is the slimmest one around

Huawei has just kicked off its MWC party, and have unveiled a slew of devices. One of them is the extremely thin MediaPad X1, billed by the company as the lightest and slimmest Android tablet around today. We’re inclined to believe them – the MediaPad X1 is only 7.18mm thick, and uses a full aluminum chassis.

Huawei MediaPad specs

  • 1.6GHz HiSilicon Kirin 910 processor
  • Mali-450 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 7-inch LTPS display, 1920 x 1200 pixels
  •  13-megapixel f/2.4 main camera
  •  5-megapixel f/2.2 front camera
  • Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS
  • 3G, HSPA+, CAT 4 LTE
  • 5000mAh battery

The MediaPad X1 uses a 7-inch 1920 X 1200 LTPS touchscreen, and is equipped with a 1.6GHz HiSilicon Kirin 910 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a Mali-450 GPU. A 5000mAh battery should provide the MediaPad X1 with enough juice to last it a few hours. The MediaPad X1 has a 13-megapixel f/2.4 main camera and 5-megapixel f/2.2 front camera.

As far as radios go, you can expect the MediaPad X1 to have CAT4 150Mbps LTE, and WCDMA/GSM call support, which allows you to use the MediaPad X1 as a phone, if you don’t mind putting it’s gigantic display against your face.

As far as pricing goes, the MediaPad X1 will retail for €399 or Php 24110 in Europe when it launches on March 14. No word yet when it’ll hit Asian markets.
