iPhone 5 for… Php60,000? Not far from happening
After introducing the new specs and design of the iPhone 5, Phil Schiller shared that it will be available starting September 21. Two primary gray market sources, Hong Kong and Singapore, are included in the first wave of countries that will get the new iPhone. If we will look at previous iPhone gray market availability dates as a precedent, expect iPhone 5 units to be in Greenhills no later than September 22, lol.
Why you shouldn’t buy from the gray market
Three big reasons. First is that the LTE band might not be compatible here in the Philippines. Second is that it will be ridiculously overpriced. Lastly the after-sales service will be very shady since it didn’t come from an official telco or reseller. We strongly recommend that you guys just wait for the official local launch. Based on the marketing activities of both telcos we can expect it to land locally in October or November.
