Aside from the large display, the U3 also features a 13-megapixel rear caemra with a Sony IMX124 sensor, paired with a smaller 5-megapixel front camera. While the U3 can take 13-megapixel photos, it can also upsize the photos up to 50 megapixels using software interpolation. There were rumors that the U3 had 4X optical zoom, but unfortunately that’s exactly what feature is – a rumor. The camera does not have 4x optical zoom.

Just like the Mi Note, the Oppo U3 also has a dedicated audio chip inside the U3 (a AK4961 chip) and the company’s own VOOC fast charging system which charges the 3000mAh battery to 75% in half an hour. The back of the U3 looks kinda funky, and it definitely adds to the visual appeal of the smartphone though we’re not sure if everyone will like it. Weirdly enough, the U3 comes with a rabbit tail attachment(??) that goes on the back of the case that’s designed to make you hold on the phone better. Okay.

Funky attachments aside, the Oppo U3 goes on sale in China for an equivalent of $451 according to Phone Arena, which comes out at Php 20011, although we don’t know if it’ll ever come out in international markets. What do you think? This or the Xiaomi Mi Note? Let us know in the comments below.
