KingCom Zeus 05

Feel the God’s (bass) fury with the Zeus!

Earlier this week we got our hands on the Zeus Bluetooth Headset from KingCom. Yup, the same people that markets and sells the Pi Phone Venus also offers this rather decent, long lasting Bluetooth headset. The Zeus (KingCom apparently likes naming gadgets after Greek gods) headset boasts of 36 HOURS of battery life and are really comfortable to wear due in part to the ear cups that are made from artificial protein leather.

The packaging of the Zeus Bluetooth Headset looks and feels premium. The box is rather colorful, with  photos and a detailed description of the product adorning the outside. The actual headset is placed inside an inner box along with a faux leather carrying case, charging cable and instruction manual.

While our review examples are blue and green, the Zeus Bluetooth Headset is also available in pink and yellow.

Taking it out of the box, you immediately feel the premium construction and build quality of the headset despite being made out of polycarbonate and ABS plastic. The colors of the headphones are tastefully done, and are really headturners. While the overall design is a definite homage to another, more premium headphone brand, make no mistake – the Zeus headphones aren’t just another cheap knockoff. It is also folds when not in use, and KingCom includes a carrying case for it as well.

The biggest concern most people have when using Bluetooth headsets is battery life, and we were really surprised just how long the Zeus lasted on a single charge. KingCom advertises the Zeus as lasting for around 36 hours on a single charge, and our experience with the device confirms this. We paired the Zeus with multiple gadgets including smartphones, laptops, Chromebooks and we found no compatibility issues whatsoever. Pairing is pretty straightforward, and we noticed that the Zeus charges pretty fast when you plug it in. We never had a problem with the Zeus in terms of comfort even while we were using it for extended periods of time, as the artificial protein leather earcups gave plenty of support and was insanely comfortable.

The sound quality for the Zeus is surprisingly good for a Bluetooth headset, though it does require a bit of burn-in. Before burn-in, we noticed that the bass was a smidge too strong and had to adjust the equalizer on our phone to compensate, but after a short 2-hour burn-in the Zeus’ sound quality was back to nominal levels.

All in all, the Zeus is a good choice if you’re looking for a wireless headset that’s comfortable, visually striking, has good sound quality and has insane battery life. We don’t have the actual price of the Zeus as of yet, we’ll update this post once we have it.
