Lenovo Philippines launches the ThinkPad Tablet for Businesses

Alongside the Lenovo IdeaPad U300, Lenovo Philippines also launched the ThinkPad Tablet during their Christmas party for the media. Billed as the first business class Android tablet for professionals the Lenovo ThinkPad has access to the full mobile enterprise suite of Lenovo. This includes, among others, SD card encryption, McAfee Mobile Security, and even Computrace, a mobile app that can remotely track down your tablet should it get stolen and it also lets you disable it or delete sensitive data. It also has a USB and microSD port making it easy to transfer files which I’m sure are features that a lot of professionals are wishing for in their tablets.

Specs

The ThinkPad is not some watered down tablet. It actually packs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-core processor which delivers smooth multitasking, great app performance (especially with graphics intensive applications like games), and better over-all web browsing performance. The tablet has a 10.1″ IPS screen with WXGA (1280×800) display. The screen is Gorilla Glass which is scratch-resistant. Finally in terms of software the ThinkPad Tablet runs on Android 3.1 OS.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo ThinkPad is scheduled to hit stores in the middle of this month (December). The 32GB variant will sell for around Php28,000 and it comes with a 1-year warranty.
