New leak sheds light on possible processor used on LG’s new flagship

Yesterday we reported on a leak that said that LG’s newest flagship may use Qualcomm’s older processor, the Snapdragon 800 instead of their newer Snapdragon 801. Well, it seems that won’t be the case, going by today’s fresh leak – the LG G3 has been spotted by Ubergizmo running AnTuTu which identifies the processor of the G3 as a Snapdragon 801. The photo also confirms the rumors that the G3 will sport an insane QHD 2560×1440 resolution, likely paired with a 5.5-inch display.

LG G3 specs*

  • 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch QHD display, 1440×2560 resolution
  • 32GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 64GB
  • 13-megapixel camera
  • 2.1-megapixel front camera
  • GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • 3G, LTE
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

*Rumored specs are subject to change

Ubergizmo estimates that the G3 will launch around June or July – any later and it doesn’t make sense for the company to use an 801 processor as Qualcomm’s 805 processor may already be ready by then. Color us excited – if the specs are true, then LG’s next flagship smartphone will prove to be a beast.
