LG Ultra HD 65″ TV Review: Mind-blowing Viewing Experience

I really wanted to bring this one home! Haha!
I really wanted to bring this one home! Haha!

We were able to spend a night with the LG Ultra HD 65″ TV last week and it was nothing short of a mind-blowing evening of watch Blu-ray after Blu-ray movies! It was literally one of those nights wherein we just plunked ourselves down on the sofa, picked up the remote, and wasted the night away with our eyes glued to the TV. Heck if we had one of these babies at home that will probably be what our evenings would be, haha!

The LG Ultra HD 65″ TV boasts of Ultra High Definition resolution. That’s 3840 x 2160 which is already what techies call 4K HD. The level of detail, smoothness, and crispness that you get on this bad boy is crazy! They also even have built-in technology called ULTRA POWERED UPSCALING which can boost the performance and quality of non-HD/UHD videos that you have so that they look much better on-screen.

Other notable viewing features include TRUMOTION TECHNOLOGY which reduces motion blur and increases clarity. This is more for sports, video games, and any movies with high speed action. LG also claims that their TRIPLE XD ENGINE delivers advanced image processing which enhances color, contrast, and over-all image clarity.

The TV was also powered by WEB OS. It has all the Smart TV features including web and network connectivity. What we liked about it though was how they designed the user interface. It was actually much more user-friendly compared to a lot of Smart TVs that we’ve tried in the past. We also loved the magic remote control which had pointing, wheel, and voice command.

Really nice implementation of Smart TV functions.

The TV can also do 3D but we’ve never been fans of this so we skipped testing that out. We stuck to watching movies on Blu-ray and then tried a couple of games on the XBOX 360.

Lastly, if you looooove watching TV series you can actually have the TV record it when you’re not around. LG calls this TIME MACHINE. It lets you record, watch and record, or schedule recording to a USB hard drive or the TV’s built-in memory.

Crazy good.

Priced at Php249,999, the LG Ultra HD 65″ TV is one of the top-tier TVs that you can get for your home. We obviously can’t recommend it for everyone but for those who can afford big buys like this one, you should really take a look at this TV. Compared to other 65″ Smart TVs in the market the price of this bad boy is actually quite competitive already.
