Here’s a glimpse of MediaTek’s roadmap for the rest of the year
MediaTek, the Taiwanese chipmaker that made affordable Android smartphones a reality is tipped to release three new, 64-bit SoCs before the year ends. The new Socs cover both quad-core and octa-core markets, and are all capable of running LTE.
The MT6752 and the MT6732 are both LTE, 64-bit SoCs that cover the low-end to the high-end segment of the market, with the former supporting up to 16-megapixel cameras and the latter supporting up to 13-megapixel cameras. The most advanced SoC won’t be coming until the end of the year, in the form of the MT6795. Aside from having 64-bit support and LTE, it can support WQXGA displays (2560×1600), as well as do 4K recording, allowing different ODMs to go toe-to-toe with the offerings of international brands running Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processors.
