As far as the internals go, both devices are mostly similar inside – both use Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 400 processors chugging along at 1.2GHz paired with 1GB of RAM, and both have 3G and LTE models as well. The Lumia 640 has an 8-megapixel rear camera while the 640 XL has a 13-megapixel Zeiss-equipped snapper on the back.

Both devices are powered by Windows 8.1 naturally, and is guaranteed to get an update to Windows 10 when it gets released later on. Both devices also come with a year’s worth of Microsoft’s Office 365, which incidentally also comes with 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage.

Prices for the Lumia 640 are $155 (Php 6833) for the 3G version and $177 (Php 7803) for the LTE model. The 640 XL will go for $211 (Php 9302) for the 3G and $244 (Php 10757) for the LTE version. Since Microsoft has a good track record of keeping the local prices of their Lumia devices the same as published international prices (with less than Php 1000 in price variation) you can expect both devices to retail at roughly the same prices, give or take a few hundred pesos.
