Need a stylish, water-resistant phone?

Motorola also announced a smaller, mid-range handset alongside the bigger Moto X Style. Dubbed the Moto X Play, the new device is a water-resistant phone aimed at the mid-range market that want a durable, colorful devices that’s capable of tackling the rigors of everyday life.

Motorola says that the Moto X Play should last around two days on a single charge, which is more than we can say about their previous Moto X (you’ll hear more about this in our full review). Just like Motorola’s other phones, the Moto X Play ships with bare-bones Android 5.1 Lollipop, with a promised update to Android M later this year. The Moto X Play will also be customizable via Motorola’s Moto Maker service in territories where it’s offered.

The phone is slated to be released in Europe, Latin America, and Canada in August, and no word yet when the new device will make its way to Asia. Interestingly, US customers are left out in the cold when it goes on sale in August.
