Unofficial KitKat update for the MyPhone Rio for people who have the courage to try it!
If you’ve bought MyPhone’s bang-for-your-buck Rio and want KitKat on your phones right now, you’re in luck. Facebook users Edmhar Laoag and Ako ay Tuwid have managed to get the KitKat update for the MyPhone Rio from Tinno.
Like any unofficial update, it takes a bit of work to get KitKat on the MyPhone Rio working, but Edmhar Laoag has put an easy-to-follow guide on his YouTube page for you to follow if you’re up for it. Again, this update is unofficial and will void your warranty (since it involves rooting your device) and we assume no responsibility for what happens if you do decide to try it apparently the update doesn’t need a rooted device to work, but your files will still be wiped so it’s a good idea to back up your phone. Users who’ve done the update report faster performance in their devices. Also, it’s important to note that the update will only work with V1 and V2 Rios, the first batches of MyPhone’s Rio will NOT work with this unofficial update.
