Is Nokia Really Going Android?

Today Nokia (and subsequently Nokia Philippines) have changed their Twitter profile color to green. Android Green. Normally that wouldn’t be a big thing, but rumor has it Nokia is coming up with their own Android powered device, code named Normandy. Put two and two together, well.

The prevailing rumor is that Normandy will be an Android powered device, meant to compete at the low end. Of course, Nokia isn’t going to capitulate to its competitor that easily – Normandy won’t have access to some Google -developed features or Android apps from the Google Play storefront, and instead will come preloaded with Nokia built applications and app store. In essence, Nokia is looking to fork Android, and rumor has it, Normandy is just the beginning.
