Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Bluetooth Keyboard Case!

If there’s one field in technology that Samsung excels at it’s with accessories and peripherals of their mobile devices. Ever since they entered the space they’ve always had a wide variety of cases, keyboards, earphones, speakers, extra batteries, battery chargers, and even micro SD card. That’s why it comes as no surprise that their new flagship tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, is getting a really kick ass looking bluetooth keyboard case. This was actually announced shortly after the Tab S was unveiled but it was only a few days ago when it became available locally. We managed to snag one at the Samsung store in SM Aura and we’d like to share with you guys our thoughts on it after using it for a little over a week.

The Galaxy Tab S Bluetooth Keyboard Case is designed to perfectly match the Galaxy Tab S. We got the Titanium Bronze variant which is the same color scheme as our Tab S 10.5. What’s cool is that the design elements of the keyboard case is very similar to the Tab S itself. If you have it docked it actually looks like one device (which is awesome).

The keyboard case is very slim and to be able to achieve this Samsung had to do away with all the non-essentials. This doesn’t have it’s own battery that can charge the Tab S. The battery it has is just for itself. It also doesn’t have some sort of micro USB port for the Galaxy Tab S to dock on. There’s a space between the spine cover and the keyboard that lets you prop up the tablet in one angle (good for typing when you’re on a desk).

When not in use just push the tablet down and the other end will slide into the spine protector which is a very snug fit. There’s also a latch which you can use to firmly lock the tablet in so that it own’t fall off when you’re mobile.

The main star of this accessory though is the keyboard. The responsiveness of the keys are very nice and they’re spaced out properly. We didn’t have any major problems typing long documents on it. The addition of the Android hot keys on the keyboard was also a very welcome development. We particularly appreciated the Back and Home keys already built into the keyboard. We didn’t have to keep touching the Tab S when we were working with the keyboard.

By the way, battery life on this is phenomenal. We’ve been using it for more than a week now and we still haven’t charged it since we brought it out of the box. This is definitely made for people who want to use their tablets as productivity tools.

Designed very well. Two thumbs up when it comes to aesthetics.

Design and function wise, the Galaxy Tab S Bluetooth Keyboard case is the best accessory you can get for your Tab S. Our only issue with it is the price. Local Samsung stores sell it at a very premium price of Php6,500. That’s already the cost of a local branded octa-core smartphone (Cherry Mobile Pulse). It’s definitely hard to justify getting one especially if you’re the frugal type, lol.

So yeah, if you can afford it then go for it. Hopefully Samsung brings down the prices though of their future accessories. 😮 Sayang eh. Ang ganda pero sobrang mahal.
