128GB in a budget device?

If your frustrated at the small storage space that’s given to entry level devices, then you may want to listen up: Samsung has just announced a new, 3-bits-per-cell flash memory chip that promises to give the world whopping 128GB of storage in mass market devices. That’s right – sometime in the future, your new entry level smartphone will come with more storage than some notebooks out today. The new tech is based on eMMC rather than the cutting edge UFS one in the company’s own Galaxy S6 so it’ll be a fair bit slower – if you can call 260MB speeds slow. The only problem is that Samsung hasn’t announced when the new tech will be ready, so it may be a while before you can stuff all of the things in your budget smartphone.
