Smart Freedom Postpaid Plans Launched

SMART Communications is stepping up their efforts in getting new postpaid subscribers with the new Freedom Postpaid Plan. This fascinating product lets you get a line that has no required monthly service fee, no 2-year lock-in contract, and no complicated application forms. To apply you also need to just present 1 valid ID.

Php600 Limit per Month; Postpaid Buckets offered
So that you don’t overspend, Smart put in a 600 monthly limit. It sounds very low but you can actually make the most of that with their new Smart Freedom Postpaid Buckets. The most attractive in the list is the TRI NET 400. In this bucket you get 2,000 text messages to all networks, 500 call minutes(Sun, Smart, TNT), and 150MB data. Not bad for Php400 right?

Voice Calls: On Network Php6.50, Off-network Php7.50
SMS or MMS: Php1.00
Browsing: Php10/30 minutes
International SMS: Php10

Who is this for?

With the very low barrier to entry we see two potential markets for the Freedom plan. First are the existing prepaid subscribers who want to “upgrade” to postpaid. With just one valid ID as the requirement this is actually an attractive package.

Secondly we see the package as a good entry-point for those who want to switch networks. Freedom plan won’t be able to give you Unlimited Data but it can definitely give you a taste of what Smart has to offer.
