It was only a matter of time until Sony finally offered a premium tablet that was less than 10-inches. And while the company didn’t say it, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is obviously their answer to Samsung’s 8-inch version of the Tab S, as it plays in the same compact tablet category.

The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is amazingly slim, coming in at just 6.4mm, which makes it even thinner than the already impressive Xperia Z2 Tablet. Like all of the devices in the Xperia Z3 lineup, the Z3 Tablet Compact is IP68 rated, which makes it resistant to water and can be submerged up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any ill effects. Like the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact, no pricing has been set for this device as of yet.
