\Sony’s newest flagship shows off its underwater chops in this unboxing video

Sony’s touting its newest flagship, the Xperia Z3 as one having the highest waterproof ratings that’s available for smartphones nowadays, being IP65/68 certified. This means that the phone is rated for depths of more than 1 meter for around an hour without any ill effects. This is probably the reason why Carphone Warehouse decided to unbox the Xperia Z3 underwater.

While both the box and manuals of the Xperia Z3 fare as well as you’d expect after being submerged in water (read: they turned to mulch) the phone fared remarkably well. The host even managed to take photos of both the diving team taking the video of the unboxing as well as a diver selfie to document the occasion.
