Sony’s OmniBalance Era is coming to an End

Sony’s OmniBalance Era is coming to an End

Change is coming

You read that right: After four years of using the OmniBalance design, Sony will be introducing an all-new design for its Xperia smartphone line starting in 2018. This has been confirmed by Sony India managing director Kenichiro Hibi during the launch of the Xperia XZ1 in India.

Hibi explained in an interview with Indian Express that they acknowledge the trend of bezel-less phones. As companies are riding into the trend, Hibi said that Sony will be launching their own take on bezel-less phones “soon”.

It is also worth noting that Sony will be focusing more on high-end and mid-range smartphones in India. With the XA1 Plus tagged as a “premium mid-range” and the XZ1 as a “mass market flagship”, we will not be surprised if we will no longer see budget offerings from Sony in the Philippines.

Will the end of the OmniBalance era be Sony’s turning point as a smartphone manufacturer? Comment down below!
