Starmobile reveals Engage 7HD Specifications and Price

It’s official… the Starmobile Engage 7HD will sell for Php7,990. The tablet will run on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (ARM Cortex A9), 1GB RAM, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. There’s no word yet if it will eventually get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but the specs should be able to handle that. What’s special about this though is the screen. It sports a 7-inch IPS display with 1280×800 HD resolution. This results to sharper colors and crisper images.

Here’s a full rundown of the specs:

Btw, we’re trying to get a review unit so we can thoroughly test it out before we give it our thumbs up.

I have two (2) Engage 7′s and I don’t want to jinx myself, but for the price it’s a pretty great device. I mean it accept the 3G (Huwaei E1552) modem and a flash drive USB Stick. As much as I love my I love my iPod and iPhone I hate to convert video and then need iTunes to get said video on the phone or iPod. It’s a pain. With the Engage all I have to do is insert the SD Card into my MBP and drag and drop. TAH~DAH!!!

I’m sure the HD will be a great TAB as well.

My ONLY concern is DURABILITY. How long can it/will it last? It is SO inexpensive … can it go the distance? Can it last the duration of its 1-yr-warranty? If it can, It’s so much cheaper than a Nexus 7 that it becomes that much more attractive.

I own one, is there a comprehensive guide on how to properly root this device?

    • Hi John! I don’t root my stuff. Sorry :(

Walang po bang bluetooth, radio at pdf reader?

  6. jc

    no bluetooth,,,FM yes,,pdf downloadable

  7. in a few months the camera malfunctioned (can’t connect to camera)… the tab works perfectly well except for the camera. And another thing, claiming warranty takes soooo looong and not receiving any feedback as to the status of the warranty claim. Bought the unit in Pick & Carry at Cang’s Inc., Dumaguete City
