A Couple of Powerhouse Shooters

Today, Sony Philippines announced that two of their cameras from their acclaimed RX series, the Sony RX0 and the Sony RX10 Mk IV, have officially landed in the country and will soon be stocked on store shelves.

The Sony RX10 Mk IV is the latest iteration of the company’s bridge cameras and features a 20.1-megapixel 1.0-inch Exmor RS CMOS stacked image sensor with a DRAM chip plus a BIONZ X image processor. You may not be able to change the glass of the RX10, but it comes with a 24-600mm ZEISS Vario-Sonnar lens at an aperture range of f/2.4 to f/4.0 that should be more than suitable for any and most shooting situations; coupled with built-in Optical SteadyShot to get rid of camera shake as well.

The Sony RX10 also has  315 phase detection AF points to help you track subjects and can shoot up to 24 frames per second so you don’t miss that perfect moment when taking photos of your kids or pamangkins at Christmas. If you want to shoot videos during family vacays, then you’ll be glad to know that the Sony RX10 IV can shoot in 4K as well.

If you want something that you can take outdoors, then you may want to have a look at the Sony RX0. Since it does bear the RX name from the Japanese company, its internals are similar to the RX10 IV, having the same image sensor and processor, but at a lower megapixel count at 15.3- megapixels. You’ve still got ZEISS optics on board with a wide-angle ZEISS Tessar T 24mm lens at an f-stop of f/4.0.

The RX0 can shoot videos in 4K and shoot in S-Log2 when you want to give your videos a more cinematic feel. Aside from that, it’s capable of shooting 1000 frames per second to give smooth slow-motion footage; giving all of you adrenaline junkies out there a different way to capture your insane stunts.

To make sure that the RX0 can handle all that excitement, its body is waterproof up to a depth of 10 metersshockproof if dropped from up to 2 meters, and even crushproof to 200kgf.

The Sony RX0 has been priced at Php 39,999 and comes with a free 32GB MicroSD card and is available in stores today, while the Sony Cyber-shot RX10 IV will be available starting November 18 and has been given a price tag of Php 99,999 with a free 64GB SD Card.
