Unboxed: Bmorn V16 Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet

And here come the affordable Android Ice Cream Sandwich Tablets! Bmorn, a rather popular brand in China, is now in the Philippines and they’re introducing to the market one of the most affordable Ice Cream Sandwich tablets in the form of the Bmorn V16. Ultra thin and lightweight, the Bmorn V16 is the perfect entry-level and budget-friendly tablet. The hardware also ain’t that bad (unlike those ugly aPads in Greenhills). In fact it sports some sort of anodized aluminum back cover which gives is a premium feel, hehe.

Here are the official specifications:

Packaging

The Bmorn V16 comes in a solid printed white carton box. To open just remove the circular tapes at the sides and pop the box open. You’ll find the tablet in some sort of foam covering inside. Once I took it out of the plastic I found myself amazed at the hardware design. It definitely did not look like a Php6,500 tablet. In fact it looks much better than a lot of the other Android tablets in the market today which has three to four times the price.

Look at that gorgeous back, hehe.

Initial Impressions with Performance

So how does it fair once turned on? First let’s talk about the screen. It’s not Super AMOLED but it works. We tried playing some videos and they all ran smoothly. Colors were good and crisp.

As for the actual software (ICS), it’s surprisingly snappy and responsive but you’ll eventually feel some lag once you start opening several applications. To initially put it through the paces we downloaded a couple of apps and games including Temple Run. The game ran smoothly until we started opening apps.

Time to escape from them Demon Monkeys

We’ll share more details once we do the full review. For now though we can definitely say that this is probably the best tablet your Php6,500 can ever buy.

To order just head on over to the official website of Widget City. Man, I still can’t get over the fact that this is just Php6,500! Lol.
