The iPhone 6 Plus apparently likes to bend
If you’re one of the lucky few that has the upsized version of Apple’s latest hotness, you need to stop putting it in the front pocket of your jeans, stat. Several users have reported that they’ve accidentally bent their iPhone 6 Plus by simply storing them in the front pockets of their jeans and sitting too long. Photos of bent iPhones on Twitter were tagged with either #bendgate or #bentgate, accompanied by photos of bent smartphones.
So why is this happening? Well, there are a couple of things at work here – the new phones use an aluminum frame, which in itself is a very bendable metal and not that rigid. Combine that with the thin body and increased surface area because of its increased size, then you have a device that’s more susceptible to bending than say, an all plastic device.
