Xiaomi Officially Announces Mi 6 With SD835 CPU, 6GB of RAM

Here it is!

After months of teased specs and renders, Xiaomi has officially announced the Mi 6i in an event held in Beijing today. The new phone sports a dual-camera setup as well as the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 6GB of RAM and a splash resistant (not water-proof) body.

Being a premium device, the Mi 6 uses a stainless-steel frame and four-sided curved glass, along with a 5.15-inch display. Xiaomi’s glass treatment for the Mi 6’s panel is quite different from the usual 2.5D curved glass panel that’s employed by its competitors, as it flows down to the bottom and top of the panel, as opposed to just to the side.

The new phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the glass and four striking color variations.

As far as dual cameras are concerned, we’re getting twin 12-megapixel rear shooters — one with a wide-angle lens and the other a telephoto lens. It’s capable of achieving 2x lossless zoom and, unsurprisingly gets “Portrait Mode” for those shots with software assisted depth-of-field ala Apple. To make sure your hand shakes are a non-factor when taking photos, i’s equipped with 4-axis IOS as well.
