Zeiss Jumps Into the VR Game

VR headsets are starting to become a dime, a dozen with smartphone manufacturers pairing it with purchases of their latest devices or — we’ve read — that Google has even been giving them away with newspapers in the US. When Zeiss pops up on the radar for VR Headsets though, that certainly changes the game.

Known for their absolutely gorgeous camera lenses, Zeiss has just made a VR headset that features their precious optics in what they’re calling the VR One Plus — Yes, like the phone but no where near it. The headset boasts of a comfy, premium build that can house 4.7-inch to 5.5-inch phones with, as you’d expect from the company, stunningly sharp images and they’ve even managed to remove distortion around the image.

The VR One Plus ships with hardware to use for augmented reality applications and will be compatible for both Android and iOS devices. Zeiss is also talking about a DJI app that will give you a first-person view from your drone — We can’t wait to try that out with our Phantom 4 — plus, they’re also talking about compatibility with Google’s DayDream.
