5 Games We’re Excited to Play on the Nintendo Switch

Choo-choo! All aboard the Nintendo Switch hype train!

Now that the details for the availability and pricing for the Nintendo Switch have been revealed, it’s time to take a look at the games we’re going to be playing on Nintendo’s new system. While there were a number of announcements during the live event that happened a few days ago, here are the games that will certainly be stocked on our shelves.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Release Date: Fall 2017

Ever since Nintendo announced that they had been working on the switch and showed us the trailer for the new console, we were psyched to see that Skyrim would be making it to its library of games. We’ve recently been replaying Skyrim on our PC and have forgotten how easy it is to get lost in this region of Tamriel; making it a good buy for replay value alone. FUS ROH DAH!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Release Date: April 28, 2017

We can still remember gathering around our Super NES (or Super Famicom) when we were but wee little lads and playing Mario Kart for hours on end; a title that we’ve always bought when we’ve had a Nintendo console. We all know that the Switch will come with a set of Joy-Con controllers, which will make the carting hijinks easier to share with a friend during downtime. Mario Kart 8 is definitely a sure buy.

NBA 2K18

Release Date: September 2017

We got a peek of NBA 2K17 being played on the Switch in its trailer, but it looks like it’s been finally been confirmed that the NBA 2K series is heading to the console and first up for release is NBA 2K18 this September. We’re not sure if you’re going to be able to play with a friend using the Joy-Con controllers, because we know that you need the right analog stick for dribble moves and the likes, so we’ll have to wait for this one comes out of for more details to be revealed. We’re hoping this opens up the talks for more 2K titles to hit the Switch as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Release Date: March 3, 2017

You’ve seen this game make another one of our top gaming lists, so it should come to no surprise why The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wouldn’t make it here and it’s available on launch day too! We’ve played a number of titles in the franchise, but this is the first time we’ve seen the Kingdom of Hyrule like this and we’re pretty eager to explore every inch of it.  If you’re a fan of Legend of Zelda and somehow missed the trailers for Breath of the Wild, we invite you to stop reading the article immediately and watch the trailer above.

Super Mario Odyssey

Release Date: Q4 2017

You seriously didn’t think that the world’s most famous plumber wouldn’t make it on the list, did you? Super Mario Odyssey is a big departure from the Super Mario games of yore. Instead of romping around the Mushroom Kingdom (or some similar setting), Mario is let loose in a vast 3-dimensional world that includes both cityscapes, deserts, and jungles. We’re definitely excited to go on a new adventure with Mario as he takes on Bowser and saves Princess Peach who may be in a different castle.

And there you have it, the 5 games we’re most excited about for Nintendo’s newest console, the Switch. There are a lot more titles to be excited about, so let us know in the comment section if you’re looking forward to another game that didn’t make it.
