Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-Ray
The shield-wielding first Avenger makes his way to our home theaters start October 31, 2011 with the local release of Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-Ray! This rounds up all the Blu-ray releases for Marvel which means the Avengers is just around the corner!
As with Thor, this Blu-ray is hopefully packed with loads of goody extras aside from gorgeous rendition of the film in stunning 1080p (you could also opt for the 3D version if you want one). According to Amazon.com and various other sites, Captain America will have the following bonuses:
- Roughly 45 minutes of Behind-the-Scene featurettes
- Deleted Scenes
- Marvel One Shot: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer
- Avengers Featurette
- Theatric and Teaser Trailers
The highlight of this is obviously the Marvel One Shot short films, and when I say short film I mean it. No, don’t think 10 minutes long… think 3 to 4 minutes long. Just like in Thor, this Marvel One Shot revolves around Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) handling a small situation presumably as he travels to New Mexico. Initially, and according to earlier reports, the said short should “bridge the gap between Iron Man 2 and Thor” but frankly that’s not entirely true. What it does is give more screen time to Agent Coulson and lets him have a few more action shots too.
Collider actually posted the short in their website which you can freely view. Personally I wish they’d flesh out Coulson a little bit more and/or delve more into the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. Regardless of how quick the sequence is though this gives us fans something to sink our teeth into until The Avengers in May 2012.
If you’re planning on owning this for your collection, I’d suggest you guys pre-order now at Astrovision and you may get the chance to go home with more than the movie at hand.
According to Magnavision the Captain America: the First Avenger Blu-Ray will cost Php1700 and Php2300 for the Blu-ray + 3D Blu-ray version.
