AnTuTu Bench

Check out AnTuTu’s list

Love it or hate it, benchmarking app AnTuTu has become the defacto measurement of power for smartphones, at least for synthetic benchmarks. It’s one of the apps that people look at when measuring a smartphone’s performance, and is the app that many manufacturers use to market their wares. Just like last year AnTuTu has put together the list of top ten smartphones that have consistently topped its benchmarks and the results are pretty interesting, in more ways than one.

Firstly almost all of the top 5 performers are phones made by Chinese manufacturers: the 6GB RAM packing Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, the LeEco Max 2, Lenovo’s ZUK Z2 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 5. Only Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge is the phone in the top 5 that’s not produced by a Chinese firm. We guess Chines peeps love their fast smartphones, eh?

Most of the phones in the list are also powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, which is good news for the chip maker. It seems that they’ve finally shaken off the disaster that was the SD810 with their newest release, since so many flagship smartphones nowadays are using the SOC.
