Our on-going mission to complete all the 1/6th scale collectible figures of The Avengers by Hot Toys continues! After picking up Thor, Loki, and the Hulk, we now have one of the so-called “leading characters” of The Avengers, the one and only Iron Man (Mark VII)! This is actually the same armor that Tony Stark wore after he was thrown out of the Stark Tower by Loki. This is the armor that fired mini missiles from the shoulders destroying multiple aliens and it also has the weird laser cutter thing that failed to penetrate the armor of the giant alien worm.

Coolness. Let’s move on to our feature on this kick-ass figure!

Not Made of Metal but Still Epic!

The first thing that came out of our mouths when we unboxed the figure was a long and loud “wow”. When we picked the figure up though we were a bit underwhelmed because it was actually very light and majority of it was made from plastic which is understandable given the price, level of articulation, and likeness with the actual movie character. The good news though is that Hot Toys makes up for that by adding in LED lights for the chest, eyes, and palms. They also threw in a lot of accessories and extras in the box which lets you change up Iron Man from fresh to worn down.

There are also latches at the back which you can push up to make it look like jet packs. Here are a few photos to show you what it looks like.

Not bad right? The figure actually has over 30 points of articulation making it quite posable and perfect for toy photography. The box also came with several interchangeable hands so you can do a variety of action shots.

Worn-down Iron Man and Tony Stark Head Sculpt

As we mentioned earlier the box also comes with a lot of accessories. First you can actually change the head with a sculpt of Tony Stark as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.! Here’s a shot of RDJ rocking the Iron Man armor.

Apparently he also watched Catching Fire.

Here’s a close-up shot. It’s not really 100% likeness levels but definitely passable.

Lastly, the box also came with interchangeable armor pieces which you can put on to change Iron Man from fresh to worn down. The different armor pieces have scratches, burn marks, and dents all over. It was actually fun to mix and match to get your own “custom” Iron Man Mark VII.

Notice the open missile launcher container on his shoulder and the spent laser cutter on his left hand. Talk about crazy details right?

Just a Few More To Go!

We’re definitely keen on completing the entire Avengers line-up and hopefully we can get everyone in our collection by January. There’s still Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Nick Fury, and Agent Coulson so we still have a long way to go! Hehe.

Iron Man Mark VII from The Avengers by Hot Toys sells anywhere from Php15,000-Php18,000 in stores in malls. You can probably get it a little cheaper if you look for sellers in the various forums and Facebook groups online.
