Meet Edge, Microsoft’s Newest Browser for Windows 10

Microsoft Edge

Goodbye, Internet Explorer

Microsoft has officially announced the new name for its browser for its upcoming OS: Edge. The new browser, which was known by its codename Project Spartan back when it was still being tested, features an all new rendering engine, as well as the ability to annotate webpages and is able to reduce the clutter of webpages to a simpler format for easier reading. Cortana also makes an appearance on the new browser, giving helpful advice on topics that are searchable in the web.

Fans of Internet Explorer (if there are some out there, we’d really be surprised) will be happy to know that Microsoft will keep the aging browser around for enterprise customers but make no mistake – the firm from Redmond is going all in with Edge. The new browser has some really serious eye-candy and a flat, minimalist look – hopefully it delivers on its promise to make our browsing experience better (and not become the next Bing).
