Selina Kyle
When Anne Hathaway was initially announced as the new Selina Kyle/Catwoman for The Dark Knight Rises it was met with a lot of criticism. However it turned out to be a pretty convincing performance as the director and producer veered away from the typical Catwoman mythology (her dying and being “reborn” as a cat). Instead we have a beautiful and deadly thief that goes by the name of Selina Kyle. The only thing “catlike” is that when she raises her visors upward it resembles cat ears. That’s about it, hehe.
Anyway since we started collecting The Dark Knight Rises set we ended up getting the Selina Kyle figure. Turned out to be an awesome decision. Before we get to the figure though here’s the official TDKR TV spot which features Selina Kyle.

It’s Like Anne Hathaway Barbified!
When we started collecting 1/6th scale figures one of our friends commented that the figures were like testosterone pumped barbie dolls. While we definitely disagree with that statement it kinda rang true when we were unboxing Selina Kyle. She literally looked like a “barbified” Anne Hathaway, hehe. The head sculpt is a dead ringer for the actress! And yes the 1/6th scale size kinda reminded us of the barbie doll toys of our sisters way back in our younger years, hehe.
What also makes it a little more barbie like is that Hot Toys implanted real fabric hair! She can pass off as a shampoo model/talent because of how smooth and straight her hair is, hehe. Note though that it can get messy sometimes so you might have to “comb” or fix it every now and then especially if you drop the figure. It doesn’t fall back perfectly into place.
Just like in the movie the head sculpt comes with a mask that has her visors. You can either just have the mask with the visors raised up or the mask with the visors down. Here are photos of both:
The body of the figure, as expected, is Victoria’s Secret model level! The curves are in the right places and she looks very slender and fit. With over 28 points of articulation, the body is also quite posable.
Hot Toys didn’t spare the small details with her suit as well. On her gloves and boots there’s the metallic striped accent which is very similar to what she had in the movie. She also has the same slanted belt (which we can recall her using for anything than a fashion accessory in the movie lol).
What seems to be lacking with the figure are accessories. The only thing in the box is a gun so you’re kinda limited with what kind of poses you can do with it. There are several interchangeable gloved palms though including a pair that you can use with the 1/6th scale Bat Pod (separate toy).
Over-all it’s a pretty nice figure. However it’s much better if you pair it with the Bat Pod. Unfortunately the Bat Pod costs almost Php18,000. Lol.
The Selina Kyle 1/6th scale figure is still being sold by a couple of toy and collectible shops in malls. Prices range anywhere from Php9,000 to Php12,000. The Bat Pod is sold separately.
